Description

Even today, Walter (b1937) can create incredible pots. he is the Senior (and mostly active) Potter of the Catawba Valley. Walter has a wonderful timber property where he digs some of his clay that has an incredible rutile (or titanium dioxide) level. Currently he mostly taps that clay as part of his glaze recipe and it can additional blue hue to the fired pot. Any work by Walter is really special because of his connections to so many potters & longevity of this being his 2nd career. Wonderful unique example of face pot by Walter with elongated handles. Stands 10.5" tall x 7". Signed w/ Walter P Fleming block stamp on base.
