Friedrich Goldscheider, Song Of The Bell Figural Porcelain Mantel Clock
circa 1903, Austrian, designed by Stanislaw Czapek for Friedrich Goldscheider, arched form with brass dial and embossed Arabic numerals, lower left having a figure sounding a large bell, far right with embossed Latin text from Friedrich Schiller's poem Song of the Bell, translated as "I call the living, I mourn the dead, I repel lightning." Verso with impressed stamp of "Friedrich Goldscheider / Wien / F2718 / 2 / 6," Lenzkirch brass works with serial number 446601. Includes later key.
