Helen Sorensen (American, 1876-1929), Portrait of a Man with Violin
oil on canvas, unsigned, a three-quarter length portrait of the artist's husband [Holger J. Sorensen (1882-1976)], inscribed with the artist's name on the stretcher, presented in a period gilt frame.
DOA 46 x 36 in.
Helen Sorensen studied at the Cowles Art School in Boston, and later under J. J. Enneking and Cullen Yates. Boston born, she spent many summers at the art colony in Ogunquit, Maine.
