The sapphires ranging from a light-medium blue to a medium-dark purple-blue hue, with some abrasion to facet edges, visible upon closer inspection, some with small nicks to the surface, visible upon under 10 x magnification and displaying typical inclusions, including healed fractures, some surface reaching. The moonstones are transparent and semi-transparent, with blue adularescence, some with small inclusions and abrasions, some visible upon closer inspection. The aquamarines a very light blue hue. The amethysts a medium purple hue, one displaying eye visible inclusions throughout, the other with a surface reaching inclusion. The zircon a bright even blue hue, with some abrasion to the facet edges visible under 10 x magnification. The water opal transparent with a blue, purple and green play of colour. The remaining vari-cut gemstones displaying the following: a dark green hue, a mottled translucent purple and white body colour, a dark green body colour with faint chatoyancy,a orange-brown cabochon with some wear to one side, a tinted yellow hue and a orange-brown hue, the latter both displaying eye-visible abrasion to the facet edges. The yellow metal displaying some signs of surface wear commensurate with age, including some very minor discolouration to the reverse. Stamped to the edge of the reverse with maker's mark B & B and London hallmark for 18 ct gold. Brooch pin slightly bent, pin clasp slightly stiff but in working order. Overall in good condition.
