with unidentified NYC manufacturer's mark, retailed by Profilet, period "T" monogram.

Louis Emile Gustave Profilet (1801-1868) was born in France and immigrated to the United States. He first moved to New Orleans, but settled in Natchez, Mississippi in 1823. He ran a very successful jewelry store and blacksmith shop in the city until his death in 1868.
