Designed by Georg W. Hansen in 1947 while improvising a reading lamp for his bunk during World War 2, this vintage pair of polished chrome double swing arm sconces are signed Hansen on the original cast backplates which are wired allowing the option of hard wiring or simply wall mounting and plugging into an outlet. This is the original swing arm lamp favored by designers for decades. Each hinge can be tightened to lock in position. Manufactured by Metalarte, Barcelona, Spain for Hansen New York. Hansen Lamps was acquired by Hinson Lighting in 2001 after the death of Georg Hansen. They continue to be produced to this day in Spain and sold to the trade. When fully extended arms measure 19.5" wide. Wall plate measures 4.5" tall x 3.5" wide.

Minor age and use related surface wear and losses to chrome, one area of loss near hinge of one of the lamps, as shown. Overall good.
