Modeled after Karl Theodore Francis Bitter (Austrian, 1867-1915) original bronze sculpture, this figure depicts a young boy, an irritated goose at his feet and his arms wrapped around a second struggling goose: the subject of boys wrestling with geese is a common motif throughout sculpture, but Bitter felt he could make it his own by creating a greater sense of dynamism in his figural representation; signed and dated "PP '27" on base, 12" W x 19" H.
