A silver ring composed of a decoratively segmented D-section hoop, acanthus leaf plaques at the shoulders, pillow-shaped bezel set with carnelian intaglio gemstone displaying a lion advancing left, holding a shamshir in its raised right paw, sun behind its back, foliate vines around; stamp to hoop interior. 14.09 grams, 29.93 mm overall, 19.90 mm internal diameter ( approximate size British S 1/2, USA 9 1/4, Europe 20.63, Japan 19) (1 1/8 in.).
