204. VERY RARE GERMAN PORCELAIN HEAD OF LADY BY KPM ATTRIBUTED TO ROYAL COPENHAGEN. 6” H. Fine, thick paste porcelain with lovely pink-tinted complexion, portraying an adult lady with slender oval face, dark brown painted and sculpted hair in deep waves from center part, waved down and over the ears into a coiled coronet at the back of head which is accented with a gilt comb, modeled bosom, painted facial features, large blue outlined eyes, black and red eyeliner, shaded brown eyebrows, closed mouth, rose-blushed cheeks and chin.
Commentary: Extremely rare early porcelain doll head, attributed to Royal Copenhagen, circa 1840, artist’s signature impressed inside shoulderplate L C L.
