Elvis Presley "Solid Gold" Cadillac Door Window Knob in Framed Shadow Box Display W/LOA - This shadow box contains a door window know from Elvis Presley's "Solid Gold" Cadillac. The Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood limousine became known as the "Solid Gold" car thanks to its 24 karat gold plate highlights and trim, and was said to be one of Elvis' favorites. Elvis paid $10,000 for the car new and paid $65,000 to have it customized by renowned car builder George Baris, including 40 coats of paint made of crushed diamonds and fish scales, gold lame drapes, gold-plated television, and a golden amenity case with hairbrush, clipper, and razor. This window knob was removed from the vehicle to replace it with fancier ones for tour purposes. After Elvis stopped using the vehicle, it was put on tour by RCA from 1965-1967. This knob was acquired from Gale Tucker who was Eddy Arnold's manager and toured with the car. The piece will include a certificate of authenticity. Measurements: 8.5" x 9" framed.
