Northern Song/Jin Dynasty. Circular, with gently sloping sides, continuing to a raised foot and a thin bronze rim, the interior carved with grid of diagonal squares, each containing a stylized four-petal flower head, and centering a doe and a buck, each carved with a sinuous outline, all beneath an upper border with a character inscription, exterior undecorated, the whole with an ivory-colored glaze, the underside partly unglazed, and with a faint incised character signature. Height 1 ¾ in., Diameter 8 ½ in.
