Six Chinese Famille Rose porcelain articles, comprising a 19th century square pillow decorated with lotus scrollwork on a yellow ground flanked by leiwen bands and pierced coins; a plate centering a scene of ladies and male children enjoying leisure pursuits in a landscape, framed by a border of scholarly and domestic items, having no apparent mark; a plate with flowers and butterflies, having no apparent mark; a saucer with peony and prunus; a rice bowl with peaches and bats in the interior and the exterior with floral balls, having a red mark; and a small tazza centering lotus scrollwork, having a red mark. Provenance: From an estate in Ponte Vedra, FL; pillow acquired January 26, 1982 from Breakfront, Midland, TX. Pillow approx. h. 2", w. 6", d. 5". Plates dia. 8". Saucer dia. 4". Bowl h. 2.25", dia. 4.75". Tazza h. 1.5", dia. 4.5".
Condition
All examined under blacklight. Pillow -wear and (2-3) losses of enamel, not distracting, fleabites to corners. Ladies plate - professional repair and repaint on bottom right quadrant of rim, approx 4"l.
