Description
BROYHILL BRASILIA SERVER WITH SHELVING UNIT
American, 20th century. Walnut. Three open shelves with two small drawers between with separate base of two reeded doors ending on tapered legs, the other a three-drawer unit with brass hardware and matching legs.

Broyhill was founded in 1262 by James Edgar Broyhill and started producing modern furniture lines in the 1950s and 1960s. As part of the "Premier" series, Broyhill introduced the Brasilia line at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Brasilia was influenced by the architecture and design found in the city Brasilia, the newly created capital of Brazil designed by Oscar Niemeyer. Both the Brasilia line and the architecture of Niemeyer feature sweeping parabolic shapes.
