Pair of Theodore Alexander Althorp Living History collection "Spencer" mahogany footstools, modeled after a Regency era piece circa 1830, each having ducal coronet upholster, anthemion decorated frieze, pierced apron with Spencer family crest, and rising on scrolled legs with "X" stretcher, each signed by Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer to the underside with labels, but no apparent manufacturer's plaque. Approx. of one, h. 20.5", sq. 20".
Condition
One stool with darkening/staining to upholstery and small superficial cracks to one leg, no apparent tears to upholstery, intentional distressed surface including dents, no apparent major chips to frames, frames are structurally sound.
