British School, 19th century, oil on canvas painting depicting a hunter in the woods with his dog and rabbits, unsigned, framed. Apparently a copy after "Rabbit Shooting", an aquatint etching by Edward Orme and Samuel Howitt. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Vernon Harris, Cumming, Georgia. Canvas approx. h. 18", w. 24"; Overall h. 24.5", w. 30.25".
Condition
Canvas has been lined, small area of inpainting lower left, craquelure with some cracking to surface, and hazy green varnish visible under ultraviolet light.
