Moulded and enamelled glass.
Wear and tear due to use and the passage of time.
Provenance: Spanish private collection, formed between 1970 and 1995.
Measurements: 10 x 14 x 14 cm .
Art DecÃ³ perfume box from the Karl Palda glassworks, in translucent Bohemian moulded glass, cut in faceted and geometric shapes and enamelled in black.
Karl Palda was founded in 1888 in Novy Bor (northern Czech Republic). In addition to the glassworks in Novy Bor, they also had two other workshops, one in Arnultovice and one in Chotovice. The company produced tableware and decorative glass adorned with cuts, engravings and paintings. The firm is known for its art deco vases with geometric decorations. Red, black and yellow were the most commonly used colours.
