This Louis XV chest of drawers stands on four legs with a slightly cabriole profile. The front body houses two drawers, each one of them with its own lock and with two metallic handles, and the skirt presents a mixtilinear profile format. Made of polychrome wood, the front of this Louis XV-style chest of drawers features rich genre scenes of pagodas, landscapes, peasants, birds and vegetation inspired by traditional Asian painting. In Europe, throughout the 19th century, both China and Japan were a constant source of inspiration, both for painting and for the design of furniture, interiors and decorative objects.
