In 1982, Sidney Shiff, owner of the Limited Editions Club in New York, commissioned Jacob Lawrence to create illustrations for a book of his choice. John Hersey's Hiroshima was selected. It is an extraordinary account of six survivors of the first atomic bomb attack. Lawrence created a series of eight powerfully visual paintings inspired by Hersey's words. This bound volume contains eight color screenprints created from those paintings.

Condition
Some wear to the leather exterior of book from handling. Paper lightly toned. Overall good condition. Slipcase has some wear to edges and corner with some fraying, loose threads and thinning to the fabric that covers it.
