Item Details
Description
Elvis Presley Owned Chinese Iron-Red Baluster Vase Lamp. Interior designer Tom Lane of Newport Beach, California decorated Elvis's Beverly Hills home and this lamp was probably from Mr. Lane. The lamp was part of the decorations Priscilla and Elvis Presley chose for their 1174 Hillcrest Road, Beverly Hills, California Home. The couple moved into the house shortly after their wedding in May, 1967. Elvis sold the house completely furnished in 1973. The lamp was sold at public auction by Don B. Smith Auction Co. for Elayne Marks who purchased the home and contents from Elvis and Priscilla. A subsequent auction was held by CSA Auction Co., Saturday, May 2, 1987 at Cook Convention Center Memphis, TN. The Memphis Auction included 60 items from the Don B. Smith auction. The majority of the items from that auction were purchased by Jimmy Velvet, owner of Elvis Presley Museum and friend of Elvis of 22 years. Mr. Velvet owned five Elvis Presley museums at one point (Memphis, Nashville, Orlando, Honolulu, and Kissimmee). This lamp will come with a copy of the CSA Auction Co., Saturday, May 2 at Cook Convention Center Memphis, TN. The Memphis Auction included 60 items from the Don B. Smith auction.
