Description
A PAIR OF AUBUSSON ARMORIAL TAPESTRY ENTRE FENETRES 19TH CENTURY Each with scrolling floral decoration on pale yellow ground, surmounted with armorial of 9 ball Count's coronet above lion and unicorn supporters, shield with three ducks and three crescentseach approximately 314cm high, 93cm wide
Condition
It has been suggested that these may be later in date, possibly from the early 20th century.Generally in good condition - colours are slightly muted as can be seen with comparison with rear of panels which is not backed but shows some signs of prior backing. Edges are folded over and stitched. Some surface marks and with some pulling to the underlying construction. Very small area with surface loss with visible weft.
