ABOUT HENRY H SHEIP: Owned two manufacturing plants, one in Philadelphia Pa -located on Randolph street and one in Orange County - Tampa Florida. His companies employed over 1000 people. He was one of the most notable men in the industrial circles of Pennsylvania. His company made cigar boxes,novelties, toy furniture, wood specialties, boxes, cases and furniture. He was a member of the Lumberman's Exchange, a director of the Franklin Trust Company of Philadelphia and a board member of Stetson Hospital in Philadelphia. Was active in the Oak Lane Presbyterian Church. He stood his ground and would not convert any of his factories into manufacturing war materials for WWI - even though he was repeatedly asked to. He refused to make a profit on the war and deaths on the grounds of being a humanitarian. The Henry H Sheip Manufacturing Company was founded and then Incorporated in 1900 when he became the president of the Company. He was married twice - first wife - Arabella Darlington Fox on 9-2-1875, withwhom he had two children. His second wife was Ella Bower Tracy on 3-24-1900. She had been married previously. She had a son - William B Tracy. He had a second location in Tampa FL - where he spent winters and had several orange groves.
