Description
comprising a small example, wool on linen, six and one-eighth alphabet rows, two and one-fourth rows of initials with most ending in "B", dated "1825" in the last row next to two animal motifs, all segmented by horizontal bands of decorative stitching; and a larger example, wool and silk on linen, four and one-third alphabet and numeral rows, five rows of initials, segmented by horizontal bands of decorative stitching and accented by heart and diamond motifs, signed "ELIZABETH AINSL[I...?] [18?] 53", lower third with pictorial motifs of flowers, plants, birds, and animals. Each housed under glass in modern frames. Second quarter/mid 19th century. Larger example 12" x 15 1/2" sight, 15 1/4" x 19" OA.

Condition
Good to very good visual condition with light toning, a few to some scattered losses to thread; larger example with some thread with fading/fugitive color; frames with wear and surface scratches. Not examined out of frames.
