Description
This collection contains point types including Clovis, Plainview, Scottsbluff, and possibly Folsom and Midland. Including pottery shards, six beads, and four drills. There are about 120 pieces in all from four display cases. All pieces were collected and found by Gary Bracken in Kay and Osage County, Oklahoma on the Arkansas River. They appear to be all from the Woodland and Archaic period 6000-2000 B.P. The pottery shards are compelling because they are not made by the coil/twining technique but (some pieces) are layered and decorated to look like the coil and twining technique. Several beads appear to be lapis and turquoise indicating an extensive trade network. These stones were not found locally. A fantastic collection of technology and social trade at your fingertips. Please see photos for details. Certificates of Authenticity may be available for some of the pieces in this lot. State: Oklahoma, Provenance: Gary Bracken Collection
