each piece with a pointed oval bowl on a fiddle handle having pointed shoulders and a personalized engraving, comprising a teaspoon by Charles Boudinot Root of Raleigh, NC (active 1843-1860) with engraved "EL" initials, and a pair of tablespoons with engraved "JGS" initials by Palmer & Ramsay, the partnership of John C. Palmer and Walter J. Ramsay, of Raleigh, NC (active 1847-1855). Each with maker's mark. Total weight: 3.795 ozt. Mid 19th century. 5 1/2" to 8 3/4" LOA.
