This is a biographical book about Elbert Hubbard, written by Felix Shay, an employee and friend, and published by Wm Wise and Co in 1926. With a foreword by Henry Ford, this book is a biography and philosophy work. It is illustrated and illuminated as are all Roycroft books. This one was not produced at the Roycroft Shops in East Aurora, but by Wm Wise and Co after the death of Mr. Hubbard and his wife when the Lusitania was sunk by a German Torpedo in the Irish Sea on May 7th, 1915. This event was partially responsible for the entry of the US into WWI.; The book is hard bound. The first page is loose. It has 553 pages and contains some very interesting reading. The cover is cloth over cardboard. The edges and spine are a little worn. The corners are bent in a little. The binding seems to be strong and the pages are in good shape with some yellowing but no foxed. The pictures show things well.
