Description
Lehmann W. German Tin Toys Galop Cowboy Zebra Seal Bunny. This small collection of tin toys by West German maker Lehmann includes EPL 852, consisting of a cowboy driving a zebra-drawn cart, which was one of the last tin windup toys made by the firm between 1954–62. Also included are assorted tin friction toys: seal with ball (AHA 910), bunny (918), duck (903), and butterfly. This little collection is especially charming displayed alongside the inlcuded "Galop" box, which gives the cowboy's forward lean a sense of aspiration towards the notoriety implied by his printed depiction, with an audience of little creatures to appreciate it.
Dimensions range from 2.25 in h x 3 in w x 1.75 in d (duck) to 3.5 in h x 5.25 in w x 5.25 in d (cowboy zebra team box). Condition is very good to excellent, with minor surface wear and some very minor paint loss. Operation of wind-up and friction mechanisms have not been tested. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
