Vintage photograph, entitled "The Human Liberty Bell", by Mole & Thomas of Chicago, Ill. 1918. American, early 20th century. This photograph is inscribed "The Human Liberty Bell / 25000 Officers & Men / at / Camp Dix, New Jersey / General Hugh L. Scott, Com'd'r." on lower right, and "(c) / Moole & Thomas / 915 Medinah Bldg. / Chicago 1918". Camp Dix was founded as a training camp for American soldiers in the First World War (WWI). This photo was taken during the war, most likely as a propaganda image, and was featured in the New York Times in 1918. Minor wear, creasing, and aging, as expected. Framed, frame has loss to veneer.
