11 piece lot of pottery from ancient South Arabia (Yemen) and Ancient Rome. Yemen and Eastern Mediterranean, 2nd millennium B.C. to 3rd century A.D. Pieces include Certificates of Antiquity from Tarshish J. Zadok & Sons in Jerusalem, ca. mid to late 20th century. Lot includes a Roman era cooking pot, ca. 1st to 3rd century A.D., with ribbed decoration. Likely eastern provinces of the Roman Empire, possibly Judaea / Israel. At least 3 ceramic vessels from the Middle to Late Bronze Age (ca. 1850 - 1200 B.C.). One is a pouring vessel (single handled). 2 ceramic vessels from the Iron Age (1200 - 930 B.C.), both with painted decorations. One is an one handled pouring vessel (fragmentary) with black and red line decorations on the body, the other is an ointment jar (one handled) with black glaze and white line decoration. Various other ceramic vessels are included, likely from the 1st millennium B.C., including ointment jars / alabastra, a cup, perfume jugs, and one stone ointment jar. Smallest vase: 1 7/8" tall. Tallest vase: 11 3/4" tall. Condition: some vases are better than others.
