A MID 18TH CENTURY MUSICAL VERGE BRACKET CLOCK the ormolu mounted ebonised case with bell top pediment above canted caryatid corners and glazed door with pierced gilt sound frets enclosing a 7" arched brass dial with rococo spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with sunken silvered name plaque and calendar aperture, Strike/Not Strike lever and Chime/not Chime lever at 3 and 9 o'clock, the arch with subsidiary Music selection dial with choice of 'Lovely Nancy, Lady Coventry's Minuet, March in Rinaldo, and Britains Strike Home' fronting a substation six pillar triple fusee movement chiming on a nest of nine bells with fifteen hammers and striking the hour on a larger bell, original verge escapement and scroll engraved backplate signed 'Robert Henderson, St. Martins Court, London' (48cm high)
