Description
Pair of Gilt Bronze and Porcelain Candelabra, 19th c., with a central lidded porcelain perfume cup in a garland mount, raised on two curved arms terminating in candle cups, on a relief decorated shaped base on disc feet, H.- 13 1/2 in., W.- 8 1/4 in., D.- 4 1/4 in. Provenance: from the Estate of Dr. Peter Elwood Dorsett, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Condition
One is missing the side screw that fully secures porcelain cup to bronze supports. Same candelabra is missing the bronze floral bouquet that sits atop the base. Much of the gilt finish has worn away. Some minor rust to screw inside porcelain cups. Some miniscule surface scratches to porcelain. Wear is consistent with age and use. Handsome examples.
