Pair of Bronze Hands of Buddha. Probably Thailand, 17th/19th century. Cast elongated fingers in vitarka mudra, which represents the gesture of discussion, with a blossom at the center of each palm. Mounted on a later wood stands. Size: Each 8.5'' x 2.75'' x 5'' (22 x 7 x 13 cm). Provenance: Sylvia and Philip Chaplain Collection, New Hampshire.
