AN ANTIQUE IVORY-COLORED CELLULOID & SILVER LADYS HAIR DRESSER SET

Item Details

Description

Celluloid was first invented in the 1860s and developed in the late 1800s. This early hair dressing set was designed to give the appearance of having been made from its natural ivory counterpart and appears to have been made with celluloid. The silver metal appears to be silver plate as there are no sterling marks. Still, a very beautiful and historical set in good condition for its age, showing very little signs of past use.
