⁂ Includes Smith's organisation of a black and white minstrels troupe. With several references to his friend, Arthur Shearly Cripps (1869-1952), Anglican priest, missionary, activist, short story writer, and poet who spent most of his life in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
