A LATE 19TH CENTURY SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH / PENDANT
an oval-cut sapphire within an openwork scroll frame of old-cut and rose-cut diamonds, suspending a sapphire pendant drop. Estimated total diamond weight 1.50ct, 4.7cm by 2.5cm, 8.1 grams
Accompanied by a Gemological Report, World Gemological Institute (W.G.I), WGI9624137782, 6 June 2022, stating that the principal sapphire weighs 4.29ct and is of Sri Lanka (Ceylon) origin, with no evidence of treatment
Minor nibbling to facet edges of the principal sapphire. The brooch fastening can be removed by a screw fitting, the bail too can be removed. The principal sapphire measures 8.70mm x 6.30mm x 5.72mm approximately. Estimated diamond colour: H/I; estimated clarity: SI1/SI2.
