Visage aux feuilles
The very rare medallion in 23 karat gold after a design conceived by Pablo Picasso in 1956 and produced in an edition of only 20, circa 1970s. The back side bears the stamped artist's signature 'Picasso' along with the Francois and Pierre Hugo reference number 1403, edition number of 12/20, and the French goldsmith's mark.
Measures 2 inches in diameter. Medallion weighs 27 grams.
Provenance: The collection of artist Abe Rothstein, founder of Horizon Gallery, Rockport and Newton Center Massachusetts circa 1965 -1980.
