Description
A set of 2 New York City Transit System roll signs and 2 Bay Area/San Francisco Trolley roll signs. The first roll is a Special subway route 44th Avenue to 19th Avenue. White lettering on black-coated fabric. Significant soiling and staining. Handwritten note says "Steinway Lines N.Y." Roll mechanism has bent and missing components. Poor condition. Second roll is 138th & 3rd Ave. to Gun Hill Road route. White lettering on black fabric background. Fair condition with some repaired tears. Third is a 9th - Brannan to "Car House" route, San Francisco/Bay area. Fair condition, with edge damage on the right side and heavy soiling and discoloration on the white lettering. Fourth is a "Take Next Car Ocean" to "Cortland - Banks" route, San Francisco/Bay Area. Heavily soiled and deteriorated black-coated fabric roll sign with significant damage, fading and soiling, as well as some tape repairs. This lot comes with is a pair of hanging brackets for the lampshade-style roll signs which include a slotted bracket and a closed bracket on each, with cup hooks in the top for hanging. Condition: (4). Dimensions: Largest Roll: 36" x 3" x 3".
