Description
Billy Joel Owned and Used E-mu Emulator in Tour Case W/Letter of Provenance and COA - This E-mu Emulator was owned and used by one of the best-selling music artists of all time, the "Piano Man", Billy Joel. The Emulator comes with a letter of provenance from Leo Rizzo, a musician who was recording in the same Manhattan studio as Billy Joel and whose producer, Jim Boyer, was also Billy Joel's producer. The letter tells Rizzo's account of how he acquired the Emulator sometime in late 1984 when he met Billy Joel and purchased this and another keyboard that Billy was getting rid of. The letter states in part, "He then told me that he thinks the Emulator was used on the Allentown recording for the sound of the Pile Driver." The Emulator was sold by Rizzo to Jimmy Velvet. The lot also includes a certificate of authenticity.
