This picture has been lined.
There is a cut line measuring about 9 ½ ins. in length to the canvas running across the top right-hand corner. There is a hole to the canvas measuring about 1 in. to the left of the sitter's right shoulder. There are a few other smaller 'spots' of missing paint to the canvas in the top right quadrant. The background is quite 'thin' in places. There is extensive craquelure across the image. Under ultra violet light, there is uneven varnish, especially to the right-hand edge of the image.
