Description

English George III style "Carton Pierre" looking glass with bracket shelf. Crest with two griffins flanking a Neoclassical urn and holding draped garlands in their mouths, over a shield form mirrored plate, the base and small under-shelf with garland, scrolling, and leaf decoration. Mounted to a wood backing. 40" H x 17 1/2" W x 6 1/2" D. English, 19th Century.

The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.

Condition

Condition commensurate with age. Natural wood shrinkage and scattered areas where plaster coating has been restored, some scattered gilt loss. Some spotting to mirror.
