Description
Charles Reily and George Storer, England. Large sterling trophy, punch bowl or tureen, 1840. The sterling tureen is decorated with scrolling foliate motifs and flowers, and has wonderful horse handles. With a later inscription reading "L.E. Senor Spruille Braden y Senora Las amigos de Buanos Aires 19 Mayo - 21 Septiembre 1945." This equestrian themed trophy was given to the famous ambassador Spruille Braden while he served in Argentina in 1945. The style and quality is similar to the silversmith Paul Storr. Marked below the handle.
