Description

Circa 1890, by Mah, Martin Alexander Helton, Sharon, South Carolina. The piece having a well thrown body with tooled rim above ovoid lower body. The upper shoulder is impressed clearly with makers initials. Helton came to Sharon from Catawba County, North Carolina in 1885 and worked as a potter. Very rare example of this potters work. The upper rim has a small nick as seen in photos, otherwise good overall condition. H10 3/4" W6 3/4"
