Description
Last half of the 19th century. The group includes two storage jars and one jug. The jug is likely Piedmont, North Carolina having a nice form with salt glaze. The two storage jars are likely Catawba Valley, North Carolina. One Seagle school jar having combed decoration surrounding the upper body and another storage jar having a very nice runny alkaline glaze likely by the Reindheart or Porpst family. The decorated jar has some cracking to the body but shows itself well. The other storage jar has a very tight hairline at the upper rim likely a firing flow, this jar rings when tapped. Tallest: H12" Sold from the collection of an Upcountry, South Carolina lady and gentleman.
