Cimolichthys is a genus of late Cretaceous fish that are considered to be closely related to salmon.‭ Their bodies are known to have been covered with large scutes that may have provided a degree of protection against other predatory fish.‭ ‬‬The current specimen, seen in a lateral view, is the articulated remains of this large fish, measuring 173 cm in length, which navigated the waters of the Western Interior Seaway, framed.
