A near life-sized parrot carved from a single specimen of amethyst having good translucency at the edges. The smooth yellow beak carved from jasper, the tongue carved from red jasper, the cabochon eyes rendered in the traditional German manner with reverse painting. The tail comprises white agate and red jasper tail feathers. The gold vermeil feet which are removable from the carved rock crystal base, carved in the form of a stylized branch complete with bark texturing and matte finish, unsigned. Measuring 16 x 15 x 8 cm
