Clare A. Briggs (1875-1930) Cartoonist. Briggs rose to fame in 1904 with his strip A. Piker Clerk. He was best known for his later comic strips When a Feller Needs a Friend, Ain't It a Grand and Glorious Feeling?, The Days of Real Sport, and Mr. and Mrs. 7 ¼” x 10 ¼” original sketch of a dog signed, “Sincerely Yours – Briggs 24 N. Y. Herald Tribune.”
