Friedrich Gornik, Austrian, 1877 to 1943, bronze sculptural group featuring a Bedouin woman riding on a camel and pulling second camel. Raised on naturalistic ground base raised on a rectangular green marble plinth. Signed to the base: F. Gornik, and marked on side with A.R. monogram for Arthur Rubenstein. Friedrich Gornik was an Austrian sculptor studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under Josef Breitner and Arthus Strasser. He received a travel grant, and traveled to Villach to study animals at the zoo. Gornik was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
