Description
18th C. John Ellicott mahogany hooded wall clock, the case with arched moulded cornice, reeded and canted front angles, fretwork carved side apertures and multi-stepped base with slide off key compartment. The 10" silvered dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring and blued steel hands. Double fusee movement with four pillars and striking on large bell. NOTE: This clock came from the estate of a deceased English antique dealer. It had been packed away in a box for more than thirty years. It is a bit of a project in that parts of the top hood are missing, one side seat board is missing, there is no strike/no strike lever, the fusee barrels have very short gut on them that at least show that the springs are good and there were two new fusee chains (still in boxes) packed away with the clock. The exterior of the case is in very good condition except for the thin boards that covered the top and there are bits and pieces of them included. There is no pendulum. The movement does appear to be complete except for the strike/no strike lever. 27"H x 16.5"W x 8"D, Circa - 18th C.
