1p of a bifolium postmarked Windsor, Vermont, dated November 28, 1930. A blank folded sheet signed by artist "Maxfield Parrish." With the original transmittal envelope. 5" x 6.5", The signed page has flattened mail folds and light toning throughout. Expected wear and soiling to the envelope. Boldly signed.
Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966) was an American painted and classically trained artist who was known for his luminous and stylized illustrations. His vibrantly colored and visually dramatic illustrations for children's books, calendars, advertisements, magazine covers, and greeting cards made him independently wealthy. During his later career, Parrish shifted his professional interest from commercial art to murals and landscape painting.
