Decorated with a seated figure of a male dignitary flanked behind by two elegant attendant female figures standing before a screen with breaking waves and the sun in clouds, eight female musicians standing in the foreground, and with two further attendants, one carrying a tripod vessel, jue on a dish, the other a hat, all set on a fenced garden terrace with wutong, plantain and rockwork, all below ribboned books, leaves and objects at the rounded shoulder and two shaped landscape panels reserved on a dotted green ground at the waisted neck below a plain short cup-shaped mouth

Very well painted with delightful courtly scene. Neck and mouth rim broken and repaired with original pieces. Section of the mouth rim possibly chipped and restored, now over-painted approx. 3in (8cm). Base broken and restored.
