TWO MONOCHROME BEEHIVE BRUSH POTS
Qing dynasty, 19th century
One, a high-fired porcelain under a liver-toned iron-red glaze, brilliantly imitating Kangxi copper-red, the mouth, interior, and base white, Kangxi six-character mark; the other, a soft-paste biscuit porcelain, with a finely-crackled pale apple-green glaze the covers the exterior, base and interior and which pools attractively on the upper shoulder, the foot ring unglazed.
The first: 5in (12.7cm) across base; 4in (10.16cm) high; the second: 4 7/8in (12.4cm) across base, 4in (10.16cm) high (2).
